Scriptwriter, story designer and ‘narrative paramedic,’ Rhianna Pratchett, is most well-known for being a 14-year veteran of the videogames industry. She went from being a journalist for PC Zone magazine and The Guardian newspaper into games development and has become one of the most respected writers and narrative designers in her field.
She has worked for companies such as Sony, Electronic Arts, SEGA, Codemasters and Square Enix, and her titles include: Heavenly Sword, Mirror’s Edge, the entire Overlord series and the new Tomb Raider reboot, due for release in March 2013. Her work in videogames has seen her nominated for a BAFTA and nominated three times for the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain’s ‘Best Videogame Script’ award, which she won in 2008 for Overlord.
Pratchett was named one of the top 100 most influential women in the games industry by EDGE magazine and has also worked in comics, short stories, non-fiction books, film and TV.

Andrew Shea is a graphic designer, writer, and educator living in New York City. As a designer, he uses design thinking on a range of projects that involve creating logos and branding systems, web sites, environmental graphics, books and printed matter. Shea’s book, Designing for Social Change, was published by Princeton Architectural Press and features 10 strategies that can improve the effectiveness of community-based projects. He teaches design at Parsons The New School for Design, and frequently visits design programs as a lecturer and critic.

Øyvind Olsholt is a Norwegian kids’ philosopher. He has worked in the field of philosophy for children since 1997. In 2000, he co-founded Children and Youth Philosophers (www.buf.no) and has since participated in a number of philosophy projects for kindergartens, schools and museums. He has arranged philosophical summer camps for children and a weekly philosophy club for children.
He is co-author of the books Philosophy in School (1999) and Philosophical Dialogues in Kindergarten (2008).
At TEDx Transmedia, Øyvind argued that philosophical practice could provide a means to ‘rethink entertainment.’

Saku Tuominen is founder and creative director of Idealist Group, a Finnish production company of ideas. He is one of the leading consultants of creativity in Finland and abroad and has a project called ‘Redesigning 925,’ about redesigning the nine to five working week. He’s currently writing a book on the topic.
He has produced more than 100 TV series and shows which have been optioned in more than 25 countries and licensed in more than 10 countries. He has won more than 30 TV prizes in Finland and an International Emmy and written five books: two about creativity, one about how to make startups international and two about Italian cuisine.
Saku’s talk was about ‘creative hard work’ and learning how ‘to dream and do,’ inspired by Walt Disney’s phrase “If you can dream it, you can do it.”
Saku detests the term ‘transmedia.’
